Thanks for that Ms Balding, clearly not a fan of silver and gold medals then?
'Tom Daley has won bronze, and that is just the ultimate!'

Bronze looks cool, to be fair. It's probably why Daley painted himself the same colour.
You've gotta love the irony. A week ago in the height of the gold rush the tone was that anything less was failure, branded a loser for life.
Then: Balding to whoever: "You placed 2nd, failed to get the gold, you must be gutted"
Now: Balding to whoever: "You got third place, Bronze. In the medals, you must be over the moon!"
Is irony for fourth place?

the commentator said yesterday the 18,000 crowd now knew tom daley intimately....
That's always a danger with diving, you never know where they'll end up. Fortunately, they all managed to get from the board to that little pool below.

See that Colin Jackson trying to argue that some athletes deliberately go for silver to avoid the hassle of being a gold medal winner.
It must have been a long long week for Michael Johnson sat next to those queens.
I was in the pub when the Welsh guy finished 4th in the hurdles and the commentator said it was a PB, I explained to a group of girls watching that it meant Lead.
Well done to all the Yorkshire girls for their achievements in the games but University Challenge may be a bridge too far!
@Golgo: "See that Colin Jackson trying to argue that some athletes deliberately go for silver to avoid the hassle of being a gold medal winner." Maybe someone gave him a subscription to 'Cod pyschology monthly' for his birthday.
At least Michael Johnson didn't buy into it.
