Mark King will today be formally given freeman status on the Isle of Wight, in recognition of his slap bass work that has brought the island recognition recently in the Pop charts.
Mr King a member of the very popular (on the mainland) beat combo, Level 42 has recently celebrated a number of Top 40 singles and Albums.
In awarding Mr King freeman status, the IOW community council is sure that this will give the band support and encouragement to go out and get that elusive Number 1 hit single.
