Very good, definitely worth expanding despite someone one-starring it. Gotta be easy to write, right? Brilliant idea.

5 more gold*s, up you go. Works well as a one-liner, I reckon. Not to say its up couldn't be beefed.

Yeah, it's a great one-liner, but it leaves you wanting more. Maybe justifying why all athletes will get a bronze as a minimum at the next Olympics, but chat show hosts refuse to recognise them?

Ooh, I like the idea of "medal inflation" - Sunday Times report exposes the statistic that 90% of athletes now get gold medals, devaluing the whole thing - some more elite towns are refusing to have open-top bus celebrations for anyone with fewer than four, etc.
"And the events were so much harder when I was competing," complained Daley Thompson. "We used to have to run a hundred metres in ten seconds, these days they hardly bother running more than nine! And I'm sure the synchronised swimming's got easier..."

See? This is writing itself! Come on Ant! You can do it! ROOOOAAAARRRR!

It's the crowd behind him that's helping - it's like having another man sitting on his lap. Only without any of that nonsense, not when he's trying to write, and all.

When I thought of it I started to expand on my smartphone - which wasn't a smart move, so after 30 secs I cut to the one liner.

All of our athletes will have to take the full curriculum - i.e. Decathlon or Heptathlon according to gender. Also, each one will have to achieve above the national average results.
