One Essex man will be watching the Summer Olympics with disappointment after his campaign to bring the sport of lesbianism to the games failed to win support.
Eric Collins, 28, from Braintree in Essex has been writing to Lord Coe and other members of the London Games organizing committee for over three years to promote his favourite spectator sport, yet has heard nothing back.
"I told them it would bring a whole new audience to the game, and guarantee sell-out events. It could be held in the same venues that women's gymnastics are held, judged in a similar way and, ideally, competed by the same atheletes."
Eric is baffled by the rejection. "It seems such a shame, I know that Britain would certainly have gained a gold at the coxless pair."
[ps yes, i'm terribly sorry about this post]
