Analysis spot on, cc. I did 3 years of TKD at uni, many years ago, and it didn't look much like the Olympic version. I almost felt I could do better myself (but, for the sake of argument I won't). I'll ask some Karate instructor friends what they thought.

@Sinnick - my old karate instructor described it as 'embarrassing', and he was one of the pioneers of tkd back in the 70s... now this clip is more my idea of good tournament fighting..

Brawling would be a good Olympic event. Maybe weight it towards biting, or burning the face with a fag?

I'd assumed from recent TV that it was only kicking that was allowed.
