The Emporer Caesar says he shared Roman frustration at seeing empty seats in Colosseum but he believes organizers will soon improve the situation.
The empty-seats problem has lingered beyond the first weekend of slaughter, taking some shine off the opening ceremony, which was hailed with lavish praise from most non-believers. Locals have been outraged at the papyrus images of empty stands, since many had spent months trying — and failing — to get tickets.
"We can do better," Caesar acknowledged , after organizers explained their range of tactics to fill the gaps with ordinary execution fans.
