London 2012 organisers, have warned marathon runners, that their finishing positions will be 'null and void', if they fail to consume Happy Meals given to them at feeding stations during the 26 mile race.
The meals, which contain either a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets, fries, and a choice of soft drink, will be handed out at four mile intervals over the second half of the course. Each will also be include figurines of key Olympic officials, such as Lord Coe, Mayor Boris Johnson and Billy Mitchell from Eastenders.
Sponsors MacDonalds, hope that the image of elite athletes eating their product whilst competing, will encourage more people to become involved in eating fast food, helping to fulfil their Olympic legacy.
The move represents a 'C' change from the 2008 Bejing games, where Kenyan Mattakatto Shittu was stripped of his gold medal after traces of gherkin where found in his blood.
