The National Rifle Association, which promotes Americans' right to own guns, is using the lobbies of cinemas round the USA to promote gun ownership. NRA spokesman Mike Jackson said: "It's an idea cooked up by our PR department to find a real American space to say what we believe, and show fans some great new firearms! And reminding them to celebrate the fact that it is every American's right under the 2nd Amendment to keep and bear weapons. We'll be right there next to the corn dogs and the Ben and Jerry's, telling our fellow Americans that guns are great, and they should consider buying one. More than one, maybe. And movie theatres are the perfect location. Wherre would American movies be without the reassuring sound of gunfire? What could be more patriotic than catching a movie with a giant 24 oz popcorn in one hand, a 46 oz Pepsi in the other, and a Colt 45 in your handbag or pocket?"
