And do I help myself to tea and coffee or do I have to chip in first?

Couple more questions. Is there a best time to post in the Writer's Room? Should I be setting my alarm or staying up late, or does everything get seen regardless?

If I remember from a long time ago, the point of this website is news and humour. No, that's 2 points. Anyway, I'm sure you'll do better than some of the recent new members who struggled with this simple idea.

We have toilets?

I've been here since 2006 and now you tell me we have toilets! I've had to pop out and find alternate facilities elsewhere online when the need arose.

On that note, best keep away from the casual menswear section on the Marks & Spencer website. I'd give it ten minutes at least!

Just don;t post Sunday evenings. Everyone is having their baths and going to bed early for school the next morning, then on Monday morning a flood of weekend thoughts drowns the writers' room.

And welcome, it's quite nice here most of the time. We have a deal with Tesco where you can just help yourself to tea and coffee off the shelf. Honestly, we do, you should try it out.

I can vouch for that - if you're detained by ignorant Tesco security staff just tell them that VCG said it's OK to steam in (same applies to Danish pastries)
