Mr Eric Primbole apologised to Mayor Boris Johnson for causing chaos in central London after setting fire to seventeen one hundred year old Oak trees in Hyde park. Mr Primbole had been chosen to carry the Olympic torch through Knightsbridge and onto Piccadilly. However, Primbole did not inform organisers about his weak bladder. As he reached Hyde Park Corner, Mr Primbole, desperate for a wee, ran into the bushes and relieved himself. Unfortunately, he forgot about the flame which he held aloft, within seconds, the tree he stood under began to burn. This spread to another nearby tree and soon, the whole of South Carriage Drive was ablaze. Despite Mr Primbole using his own water to tackle the fire, he put away his tackle, and made a run for it, finishing in Piccadilly Circus where he was met by the next torch bearer.
Mayor Johnson said he was happy Mr Primbole did all he could to extinguish the confligration and praised him for carrying the torch to the next bearer.
"The chap is a typical old Etonian, dim but nice, and nice but dim in a crisis"
