Murray has won over all the critics after beating Davydenko today in straight sets, a sure-fire signal that he is on track to finally get in the finals, or at least lose convincingly in the semis.
When asked how he felt after the match he remarked "I was a bit worried about the game, given that I'm seeded No.4 and he's seeded No.47. The hardest bit was knowing that even though I'm the British player, people secretly prefer him because he seems like a nice guy.
"Obviously, the first round is the hardest bit, so I can only presume I walk through the rest of Wimbledon will be fine. I would suggest this year is the year fans can get their hopes up without any fear of disappointment..."
