I'm watching it, but I don't like football. It's helping me to remember why I don't like it. But for some reason, I have an urge to buy motor oil.

I'm just using it as an excuse to sort out a dangerous back-log of beers

Both teams playing with the realisation that the winner will run into the rampant, in-form germans - expect the game to go to extra time, penalties, more penalties, british bulldog, i-spy, charades and exasperated coin toss
Totty-cam working nicely though

I find flicking over during the ad breaks on re-run of Frost/Morse/Lewis [not the whole ad break of course] is just enough to remind me why I don't watch engerland on TV.
They were just as shite when I went to see them 'play' at Wemberlee years ago. I think I watched three matches with just the one home goal. Always had/have the suspicion that a halfway decent Sunday League pub team would stand a good chance.
I assume they were still passing the ball backwards today. It might be an idea to tell them that's a Rugby football rule

Why is it that England boy fans are always so lovely and self-deprecating and funny, while the pundits are such arses?

The BBC are doing ad breaks now? Wow - the Tories move quickly, don't they!?

I'm told that is why Scott Parker doesn't take penalties - he would HAVE to kick it forward

I know it was grim, and I know I shouldn't have watched it. But they did well to get where they were, and keep Italy out for so long. Same problems with getting the ball through to Rooney, and him being marked out of the game, but this is the best England team we've had for ages. It bodes well for the future.

however Mr.Scroat.....if Ashley Young was still a Villa player he wouldn't even have been in the squad, never mind on the pitch. Hopelessly out of his depth in every game.
About the only call Hodgson got wrong was taking Milner off and leaving the hapless Young chasing shadows.
Politics, religion, sex....anything else, just ask.Posted 10 months ago # -
I only ever briefly encounter football matches while channel hopping but it strikes me they use the same soundtrack of muted roaring and incoherent commentator for every game; I guess it must save money but doesn't that get a bit tedious?

If they'd gone straight to the penalties in the first place it would have saved everyone concerned a lot of time.

Good idea Mr. Finger. So, Wimbledon will consist of Federer lifting the trophy, followed by a mass exodus to the nearest pub, where the crowds find a surly, snarling Scotsman already on his third bottle of Glenmorangie?

if the LTA relaxed their strict rule allowing only one British tennis player to operate per decade, Wimbledon would be more worth watching
