offlineMemberThe thing about tax that I can't get my head around is this: An awful lot of people work for the public sector. They all pay PAYE tax. So a proportion of their wages goes in tax but all of their wages is paid by tax. What percentage of the taxpaying workforce has to be employed by the public sector before the whole lot goes tits up? (See Greece)
There must be a simple formula.One way to help would be to pay all public sector workers net and make half of HMRC redundant.
