England manager Roy Hodgson has credited part-time football enthusiast Michael Roe with single handedly winning Group D in EURO 2012.
Window cleaner Roe, 65, masterminded England's success from his Midland Hotel base in Ilkley with a motivational fervid foul-mouthed critique, shouting "Terry you're a wanker" at the 60" plasma screen was enough to push the Chelsea captain into a last gasp
goal-line clearance and "What the fuck are you doing Gerrard, you Scouse twat?" confused the opposition, allowing Rooney to score three seconds later.
"We're not getting carried away" said Hodgson, "there's still a lot of work to do if we are to progress. Roe needs to up the ante by including the Manchester United contingent within his guidance" he continued. "Italy are a very difficult side to break down and we'll need 'Total Tourettes' to overcome them" he concluded.
The Wakefield born visionary has been an ardent occasional fan of the United side ever since they starting winning things in the 90's and to date has been unable to identify flaws in the fundamental gameplay of it's players despite suggestions from other drinkers at the pub.
'Vuvuzela', as he is known locally, has only three days to prepare his profanities ahead of the quarter-final tie was reportedly back at work this morning, warming down.
