Tax avoiding comedian Carr was arrested yesterday in a sting that saw 2 undercover policemen pose as Arab sheikhs after rumours the sneaky jokesmith was selling lame one liners to the highest bidder. The conversation which was recorded includes Carr demanding £3000 for a one liner, a further £1000 to follow this with a deadpan look and say "what?", and yet another £2000 should he be required to laugh like a donkey.
In a recent statement regarding his tax avoidance Carr had stated, "I pay my taxes. I pay them in laughter. My one liners are my top rate tax payments, my quick witted quips on 8 out of 10 cats are my national insurance payments, and my twitter feeds are my gifts to charity. When I laugh like a donkey, well that's a special gift from me to you." Carr also claimed to help the sick, elderly and disabled with the gift of laughter, apart from all the jokes about the sick, elderly and disabled.
It's not been a good week for Carr who has been asked to appear at the Leveson enquiry after many prominent figures reported hearing "Donkey-like laughter" in the background during private telephone conversations.
Carr went on to say, "I'm not a hypocrite and look over there at those bankers and politicians stealing peoples money!" We looked and could see no such thing. When we looked back he had run away.
