Downing Street is demanding fairly strict security for David Cameron's appearance at the Leveson Inquiry on Thursday to stop demonstrators embarrassing the Prime Minister with 'war hero' plaudits.
At Tony Blair's Leveson appearance, a demonstrator interrupted his evidence with cries of 'war criminal!'
'The Prime Minister would probably be embarrassed,' a Downing Street spokesman said, 'if, in recognition of his great leadership over Libya and the Arab Spring, his Leveson appearance was to be disrupted by demonstrators shouting 'Cameron is a war hero!''
But a spokeswoman for Lord Leveson said that although there was little danger of such an event, 'Mr Cameron does have the face type likely to encourage in the minds of some demonstrators the idea of a custard pie projectile à la Rupert Murdoch'.
