After years of indecision, an Islington man is paying £9.99 a month for access to the online edition of a national newspaper.
Sam Pierce said he was still kept awake at night wondering if he'd made the right decision after all.
'I've fretted about this for years,' he said. 'I know it works out at only 40p a day, but it still feels bad. I was sick to the stomach when I clicked on the subscribe button. I just hope I've done the right thing.'
Mr Pierce says he hasn't been able to enjoy the few issues he's downloaded so far.
'I keep thinking that here I am paying to read something I used to read online for free,' he said. 'Now I'm wondering if I should perhaps unsubscribe at the end of the month. It will be hard after all I've been through clicking on that unsubscribe button. But I'm thinking I might just go back to reading the papers for free in my local library.'
