Britain's older people should stop telling people how they've worked hard all their lives and always paid their taxes, says Oxford University geriatrician Dr Margaret Soames (21).
'In the first place,' Dr Soames said, 'it's nothing special and, second, it just gets on people's tits. They should just belt up about it.'
She added that the unemployed might take offence 'and lash out' and the tax man might decide to investigate 'unlikely tax boasts'.
But Terry Bradbury (25) who has never had a job said, 'I don't give a monkey's and anyone who has worked hard all their life and always paid their taxes is in my book a complete fucking moron'.
But Susan Malone (79) said she agreed with Dr Soames. 'It's quite embarrassing to hear people down at the social centre going on about it - and I speak as someone who has worked hard all my life and nearly always paid my taxes. And I'm nearly eighty, you know.'
