I worked on an OB from Lands End covering the preparations for the arrival of the torch.
After the show we had a meal at a local pub an the torch route and we were told that someone from LOCOG had visited the pub in the afternoon and demanded they take down all the Union Jack bunting and flags from the pub exterior as the committee didn’t want them appearing on the route.
I’m not sure what the answer was, but I think it went along the lines of… NO!
Were any of you in that pub – why didn’t you say hello?
