The story about Hitler and the 1936 Olympics made me think that it might be quite a good idea for NB to have a "From The Archives" side-box on the front page which doesn't just link to an actual old NB article, but is specifically for new articles about past events. When making a sub, you could add FTA before the headline and report on the sinking of the Titanic or the Gettysburg address or whatever. This is not only an amusing idea, to fabricate the notion that NB has been going for hundreds of years or whatever, but allows you to deal with that terrible moment when you suddenly have a great idea for a story that isn't topical.

I like it, how old would a story have to be to count as from the archives? I tend to have ideas about a week after stories have been in the news, too late to be topical but now if I wait sixty years I will have the opportunity to submit them?
Roll on 2072, I have a cracking story idea about Cameron at the G8

It's a yes from me - either add FTA to the heading or tag the story as something we can all recognise as such...
