As yet another prodigiously talented musician passed away before his time, medical experts are becoming more vocal in highlighting the health dangers of having music in the blood.
At the coronial inquest into Mr Gibb’s death, Dr Levant said that recreational levels of music in the blood are fine (ie a Chris Martin type dosage), but when the levels reach that of an Adele or a Cliff Richard, a visit to the doctor might be an order. Extremely high levels of music in the blood, as with Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, or Jim Morrison can be fatal, even if treated with drugs.
Dr Levant noted that cases such as Mr Gibb’s may become less common in future, as British company Syco has developed a revolutionary “thinning product” called the Cowell vaccine: “The vaccine has been delivered to 97% of the British population over the past 10 years causing levels of music in the blood to plummet, and curing autism at the same time.”
