Nearing the end of his playing career John Terry took the first steps towards the new stage in his life; lifting trophies won by other people. The Chelsea defender has faced criticism that his aging legs would prevent him from winning many more trophies but Terry believes it will only stop him raising titles he has actually earned.
As with everything the former England Captain aims to dive in head first preparing to train even while staying turning out for his club. It is expected he will start small, wrestling cups from crying children before taking a lap of honour around the park, giving interviews to everyone eve if they don’t ask. He has already invaded his local schools sports day, making off with the P2 classes 3-legged silver medal.
Ambitious as ever, it is expected that Terry will expand to other sports. He is currently mauling over whether to gate crash this year’s World Series or wait until the Super Bowl. The NFL is seen as the premier sporting event in America and it is seen as his best opportunity to break the US.
‘It is my desire to be the most decorated sportsman in history,’ said Terry. ‘All the other guys have got it wrong. They train and work and compete; it’s all so hard. It’s much easier to bring each teams strip; get steamboats while watching the game then run out to steal the credit.’
