The Editor of The Sun defended yesterday’s Roy Hodgson headline claiming they were “Embracing” his speech impediment.
The paper went on to issue a statement saying for years disabilities have been swept under the carpet and ignored by headline writers. The Editor went to tell journalists, “Why should they not read headlines as they would say them, I think it is rude to think they read the same way as us normal’s do, we at The Sun are becoming the standard bearer for inclusivity” he went on, “ We tried it a few years ago with our Bonkers Bruno headline, but the public could not accept our Frank way pf tackling mental illness health issues”.
The paper will be hoping to appeal to other suffers of disabilities such as Homophobia and Xenophobia with a brand new column written by Jeremy Clarkson as well as some new initiatives including
Stammering crossword answers, page 3 girls in Braille, Deirdre’s photo case book’s speech bubbles will now be printed in bold capitals for the hard of hearing and a new children’s cartoon strip featuring a Rupert Bear style character with Tourettes.
