The Nearshire Constabulary have found that video evidence has not improved their conviction rates, but actually hampered it. But road squad hope that a new addition to their cars will help convict more drivers with dangerous driving.
The new computer, to be installed in each car, uses software which has analysed data from videos from successful convictions. With this information it is able to alter the onboard video of any driver, to closer match the patterns seen in such cases.
"There are lots of problems in getting a good conviction." says Inspector Tintenfisch "Sometimes the driver has no blood alcohol, drives within the speed limit and does not weave across the road."
"This technology is a godsend for meeting our targets."
