There was something of an unexpected twist in the ongoing Conservative - Lib Dem coalition talks saga this afternoon. In an attempt to speed up the process, the Banker and Noel Edmonds of Channel 4's popular daytime game show, Deal or no Deal, have been drafted in as mediators amid fears that the talks might falter.
Both men have been enlisted at the insistence of the Queen, who is said to be becoming increasingly more irritated at having to hang around waiting for something to happen.
Details are sketchy but in a radical departure from he show's normal format the Banker will sit-in on the negotiations, and every 5 minutes Edmonds will call him to ask the question "Deal or no Deal?"
Her Majesty believes that both sides will quickly become irritated by Edmonds and that within 45 minutes one or both will jump at some sort of deal just to get rid of him. This is the first time that such a radical plan has been tried, but if it proves successful Noel and the Banker could well see themselves visiting many other conflict zones around the globe in an attempt to break similar stalemates.
