Ark manufacturers across southern Britain say orders are drying up as drought conditions spread.
'If Noah was alive today,' said John Woods, who has run the family ark building business for three decades, 'he'd have doubts about the Great Flood ever happening.'
Mr Woods said the drought conditions were the worst since Lawrence of Arabia was shown at his local cinema.
The decline in ark manufacturing has also hit suppliers of 2x2 and animal breeders have reduced production by half.
Japanese business leaders say they are not interested in investing in ark manufacturing in Britain.
'The only thing left,' said Mr Woods, who is a devout Christian, 'is to pray for a Great Deluge.'
