Embarrassed aides were temporarily lost for words when British PM David Cameron launched into a rendition of “There was a young lady from Rangoon” during his historic meeting with Burmese pro-democracy poet Aung San Suu Kyi.
The tension levels escalated when Cameron continued “Who had breasts the size of a balloon”.
A pin dropping would have been easily audible before the PM lustily observed “And I was in luck, when I suggested a”, at which point one of Cameron’s minders (previously employed by Prince Phillip) rugby tackled him to the ground. Cameron’s next few words were muffled but he seemed to end his ditty with “till noon”.
Sportingly Aung San Suu Kyi showed no hard feelings over the incident, as she invited Cameron to a private meeting in her bedroom to show off her new Jacuzzi.
