Due to a crackdown by local trading officers, re misleading trade names, Chelsea FC have been forced to change their name to Hammersmith FC.

In response to this, Fulham FC, which is a genuine Kensington & Chelsea club, have been allowed to call themselves "The Real Chelsea."
Naturally, the former Chelsea fans are a bit peeved, but have quickly composed a new football ditty, entitled, 'Up the Hammersmith.'

Not bad - could be extended - Sheffield Wednesday not being allowed to play on weekends. Newcastle being told that they don't have a castle, and even if they did it wouldn't be new. Arsenal are being allowed to keep their name.

Newcastle does have a castle, though it is pretty old.

Trading standards officers became rather distressed at coping with Liverpool and Everton, as it emerged that Everton is a part of the city of Liverpool but isn't in Everton whereas Liverpool is more properly speaking on Merseyside. Both sets of fans advised them to calm down, calm down.

Seeking directions to the Emirates Stadium, I went up to someone and asked: 'Can you tell me where Arsenal is?'. Quick as a flash, he replied 'Page 45, between Arsehole and Arsenic'.

Who's that Scottish bloke off Coast? He was on some archaeology show a while back and he described an ancient settlement as being "far to the south". For a brief moment I thought Queen of the South had changed their name.

On the basis that British commentators routinely refer to Internazionale as "Inter Milan", it must be time to rename Tottenham Hotspur "Totty London" and Arsenal "Arse London" for the benefit of foreign pundits.

I believe "Totty London" and "Arse London" already refer to Pippa Middleton and Boris Johnson respectively, although many feel they both refer to Ms Middleton.
