I skimmed that story and thought it was just classic Daily Mail egging on women to hate other women. But no, on second reading, she's actually one of their journos, so I suppose they are consistent in doing it to their own.

She created a perfect win/win situation for herself.
Win 1 - She gets lots of attention, people get to know who she is and it raises her profile.
Win 2 - She gets lots of abuse, women (and men) the world over have a rant at her egotism, and she gets to sit back and say, "I told you so."

She's not dog ugly, but I doubt Mr B would look at her twice, and as a woman who is quite capable of appreciating other womens' beauty, she wouldn't cause me to have sleepless nights of envy.

Now, me on the other hand...

Ok, she's not a pig-faced-horse-frightener but she has very sturdy legs. I wouldn't like to try and knock her over.

I guess it proves that people - and especially other women - still judge women first and last on what they look like. If it were anything other than the Daily Mail, I'd suspect it was all an elaborate wind-up to prove that point. Mind you, if she didn't work for the Daily Mail, I would.
