James Murdoch announced that he would be standing down from the chairmanship of BSkyB and also took the oppurtunity to announce he would also be standing down from whichever the next two positions he takes within NewsCorp as well.
"I will have a great few years or months, well maybe weeks, in whatever exciting new positions I am about to be moved to, and then moved on to again" Murdoch statement revealed, "and I think that the state of those areas I will be looking after will be quite different by the time I have left. I like to take this oppurtunity to say thanks for everyone who is about to be expected to put up with me, and that I'm sure I will learn as much from them, as they will from me during the preiod."
"I would also like to take a moment to say that I will not be perfect in this position, but that I will no doubt learn something from the endless mistakes that I make. For that I apologise in advance to those who, through no fault of their own, will most likely lose their jobs during my tenure. Having said that, I cannot accept any actual responsibility for any of my actions, or innactions, and I would remind everyone that I am not going to read any of the emails I will be recieving, or sending anyone, especially when the content of any such emails will likely be construed to show the company and myself in a bad light"
"In preperation for my forthcoming strategic reassignments I should add that I will soon not know of any of the things that co-workers liaise with me about, indeed I should add that I will be unsaying many things right now that I will wrongly be accused of saying in the weeks, or maybe days ahead of me."
etc etc etc... might come back to this...
