Proclaimer’s singer Charlie Reid says that despite being wild and carefree in his youth, there is no way he really contemplated walking 500 miles, let alone 500 more, especially for a woman.
“The truth is back in the day it was really easy to get a shag what with being the lead singer of a rock band and being on the telly and all. Sometimes I wouldn’t have to walk 5 metres and the girls would be flocking around me – I could take my pick(s).” reminisces Mr Reid.
More recently Mr Reid’s love life has taken a turn for the worse, “I met this girl on Facebook and took the train to Falkirk to meet her only to find out she was old enough to be my wife". Mr Reid said “I’m on my way” and ran 500 miles in the other direction, ironically raising $500 for charity in the process.
