In a move which has shocked the colonialist community, a group of indigenous southern American people has claimed sovereignty of the area now described as ‘Argentina’.
Argentinean President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, who traces her own American ancestry all the way back to the captain of a 16th century Spanish galleon, was quick to refute the claim.
“We err… the Spaniards, pretty well wiped out the local population at that time by a skilful combination of swordplay, early-musket target practice and syphilis. It seems unlikely, to say the least, that any of the 16 natives, whom we err… they kept in a zoo for sentimental reasons, were able to reproduce and survive as a distinct race.”
“This is just a ruse dreamed up by the British to divert attention from their cruel history of invading other countries in large sailing ships. Oh, hang on…”
