Is NewsBiscuit missing out on the majority of our best humour? We are reminded that the 2 liner doesn't fit the format. Write a headline, a 1 liner, or go away and write at least a NiB (>2 lines + headline).
Many of the funniest comedy performers base their material on 2 liners, typically a question or statement setup line followed by the wish I had thought of that funny line. We all probably know somebody who has a reputation for his quick wit and 1 liners. Well precious few of the laughs come from 1 line. It always needs the straight man to provide the first line so the wit can use the second line.
Should NewsBiscuit seek to harness this source of funnies?
Before I dismount from my high horse I have a couple of questions. How long may a ticker be? The headline field is constrained to about 80 characters but some tickers are longer. This being the case how do you submit a ticker especially if like me yours is one of the longer ones? (sniggers)
