Careless joking ruins well prepared excuse forcing millions to visit in-laws this Easter

Love this, definitely worth expanding to a NiB. Maybe reveal that the massive queue is happy to be there, and they get really annoyed when someone at the front eventually finishes filling 5 jerry cans, a child's lunchbox and a pair of wellingtons, and eventually drives off? Garage owner urged to pretend to have run out?

Agree. May I add the encouragement given to those filling their car and leaving it at the pump whilst they do their full week's shop in the attached tescos

Spot on Perks! That's already enough material for a NiB! Do the Olympics clash with any bank holidays? I guess they could always lie about it 'still being on'

Crikey - am i the only one that's taken the last hour off to watch white heat? Will work up into a NiB tomorrow unless someone beats me to it...

I'm delaying ironing a shirt for tomorrow. Def worth expanding.

What a bloody good idea...but our inlaws are coming to us. How can I manipulate this situation into a cancellation? How long does it take to rustle up a few fake BBC news webpages declaring petrol drought in Cornwall?

Right - revamped as a NiB under 'surge in calls' banner....see what you think...

Hmmm. I wonder if my parents can be spooked into staying at home this weekend. Worth a go. GOD! Imagine if they got here and then the petrol ran out! Doesn't bear thinking about.

Thats in-law avoidance, double or quits / double jeopardy, BJ. Personally speaking- not worth the risk. By day Four I'd be rowing them across the Severn estuary to get them home. 90miles of vicious tides wouldn't stop me. Nor would the fact that I have neither boat nor oars.
