Deshided to tidy up the half bottle of dry white in the fridge. Mrs. Scroat is away this weekend, so she will be impressed by my fastidiousness.
BTW amazing sky tonight - put me in mind of LOcal Hero. So I'm watching that now. Recommended.

I'm just tidying up some Rioja, and some left-over sausages from this afternoon's barbecue. It's a bit like tapas, but less irritating.
It's Aldi's Rioja. £5.99 a bottle. Really good! It's got a little label on it, so I know it's real Rioja. Not that fake Rioja I made last time, with ketchup and vodka.

Sunday: Bottle of English sparkling from Dorset's Furleigh Estates, sitting in the sun on the village green with a friend I've known since we were kids. Followed up with a bottle of jammy rocket fuel from down under.
She's flying back to Australia this morming and I'm going to get myself outside some Summer Lightning tonight! Happy daze.

Drink all the beers!
I couldn't say no to Quints this weekend, I think it was a combination of the weather and it being on offer. Consequently, I didn't touch the crate of Black Sheep I also bought. I wonder if it will go off. Regular scientific sampling is called for I think.
Agree re the sky, the planets have added interest recently, I won my bet that Jupiter would overtake Venus.

I thought drink responsibly meant:
use a beer mat so you don't leave rings on the table
try not to spill beer down your tie as silk is a bugger to clean
if there are more than five of you have a kitty instead of rounds
never drink more than your doctor
don't buy the driver alcohol
don't be the driver
close the curtains at 11
stop drinking if the landlord tells you to
leave quietly

A friend and I found a little bar down a side street in Leuven. Don't ask me for any greater detail, on pain of death, I'd never remember.
We ordered some drinks, started chatting and the next thing we knew, we were on a lock in, with free drink. The best part was when the barman handed us an ashtray, said, "Shhhh", and poured us more drink.
