Following reports from the USA that hairdressers are well placed to spot and report early skin cancers the head of the NHS Latest Fads has recommended that American hairdressers be recruited and flown in at any cost.
“British hairdressers only tend to talk about people who have already been diagnosed, those the customers have been talking about in hushed tones.” said NHS Latest Fads Director Jason Bradbury. “UK hairdressers are just not direct enough and would more than likely kick off a conversation about holidays or make up if they saw anything scary in your scalp.”
Jason continued “American hairdressers are much more proactive and will poke about your scalp looking for suspicious pimples and such and tell you right there and then that you have probably got cancer. They will also be able to put you in touch with a private doctor sparing scarce NHS resources. If you are a heavy tipper they will give you 48 hours to get insured before they go public.”
