Sick and tired of forever being stereotyped as Hermione Granger, the nerdy girl heroine of the Harry Potter books, Emma Watson has pleaded for the media to put "all that Potter stuff" behind her.
Dressed in her Gryffindor uniform at the opening of the new Harry Potter exhibition at the New York Metropolitan Museum, Emma struck back at critics who said she was a "one role actress" living off past glories.
"Now I'm independently wealthy I don't need to be Hermione ever again" she said as she signed autographs as "H.Granger" for queueing hordes of Potter fans. Emma had no more time for questions as she said she was flying out to Florida's Harry Potter World. "No really, that's it, no more Hermione. Now I've just got to open the new 'HG' fashion store at Harry Potter World and I'm back to Hogsmeade for the Harry Potter fantasy weekend."
When we tried to call later to follow up Ms Granger refused to take our calls.
