CEO Michael O'Leary announced today that in future Ryanair would cease to operate aircraft with fancy complicated autopilots and the like.
"We like to keep tings simple and cheap at Ryanair." he said. "For now we will just switch the automatic stuff off. To be sure, its just a pilot scheme."

There is an undertapped source here. The Airplane autopilot sequence. What do autopilots do on their long haul nights in Bangkok Hiltons and Rio Radissons? No chocolates on pillows for them. A chance encounter with an autodidact?
