The BNP didn't win a seat. Every time I feel a bit down - up until five watching the election now so tired am not sure what my name is - I simply remind myself of this fact and feel shiny and happy.

There is a silver lining to this whole debacle.

How would they have done if the LibDems had their way on PR?
Just curious...

It's just a great relief that they have no seats.

BNP were the 2nd biggest percentage gainers behind the Tories - up 1.2%. If you add them and UKIP together they polled 1.5m votes, 5% of the vote - PR on those figures ... makes me shudder

George Galloway out on his arse too. Rejoice.

With his poor showing in Barking, Nick Griffin is less secure, and there have already been rumblings (OK, death threats) against him in his party. So this result makes it more likely that he will be replaced by, perhaps, a more competent and/or charismatic leader. And that wouldn't be good.

There are competent and charismatic BNP members?

It's a matter of degree. There MUST be a BNP member who is more competent and charismatic than Nick Griffin. To say otherwise would be like saying, for example, that there is no creature more appealing than a slug, or that there is no disease more pleasant than rabies.

Just heard they lost all their barking council seats, too. Every cloud ...
