The British Toilet Paper industry got a welcome boost yesterday when the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted coming out of a supermarket lavatory with a piece of toilet paper stuck to one shoe.
Following the success of Kate's other recent sartorial purchases, the supermarket (named locally as Asda) soon found itself with a run on the product and shelves were empty a few hours later. A spokesman for the store said "It was great to see her supporting local retailers; she has an eye for a bargain as well, as Andrex is currently on offer at 2 four-packs for £3.50."
Fashion insiders hailed it as an "edgy" new look, and say it perfectly complemented the navy blue Missoni skirt tucked into white Primark knickers.
