In a shock development top peoples' supermarket, Waitrose, has ended its endorsement deal with kitchen Queen, Delia Smith, after only a matter of a few short weeks.
The final straw came after the chain attracted unwanted publicity following a recipe for a Seafood Risotto that Delia wrote. The retailer was inundated with complaints from customers, who having bought the ingredients and followed the recipe, branded the resultant concoction as "Vile" "Disgusting" and notably from one rough type who normally shops at Netto, who slammed it as being "Facking shite"
Waitrose MD, John Lewis, said. "Yes it's true, we've had to let Delia go. It's a shame really as we had such high hopes for a long and fruitful partnership. But that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I made the recipe myself and quite frankly I think she must have been juiced up when she wrote it, perhaps in the same way she appeared to be that time on the pitch at Norwich. But really, it was truly foul. It's so sad but she's let us down, she's let herself down and she's let all our customers down".
Delia was keeping tight-lipped over the affair today, but other celebrity chefs are said to be secretly delighted by developments. A close friend of Gordon Ramsay's has said that he hasn't seen the foul-mouthed hot-head look so happy in years.
