want to deep-fry their own head as a more humorous alternative to squandering 30 minutes of one's life on this utter pish? Very annoying for two reasons: 1) It's really annoying 2) It inevitably reignites the hypothesis that women can't do comedy, which is really annoying because 2a) there don't seem to be many women disproving it on t'telly.

And that is all I have to say about that.

I was knocking around the Cambridge comedy scene same time as them and several other people who've gone on to be huge and always spend the first few minutes of anything they do having a massive jealous sulk.

Most envious of Alice Lowe, she's in Horrible Histories. I love Horrible Histories.

Just seen a bit. It's....nearly funny. They're clearly quite good comedy actors but the material's a bit weak.

Still, at least it's not Roger and Val have just built up to another joke that never appeared. What a load of shit that is.

I looooooove Horrible Histories. One of the rare instances where having kids is really useful - I can watch it with them in lieu of bothering with their homework and still put it down to quality educational time well spent.

not quite. I could only stand 5 minutes of them. Perhaps they are made for radio. Or wax cylinder. I no longer have a device that can play wax cylinders so that could work out well for me.

I started watching it and then something vaguely interesting must have happened because I can't remember any of it. Is there anything funny on at the moment which isn't a contrived panel show? (Apart from Top Gear and Coronation Street of course)

I did see a 'comedy panel show' a week or so ago which had included someone from outside the usual 10 suspects.
I'm f%8ched if I can remember who it was though

Just looked at them on iPlayer where the offer of an Barrowman interjection made me switch it off. I think they just need to lez it up a bit; as does the state opening of parliament - that mace looks hardly worn.

Noel F totally Marmite. These two - who the feckarthey? If you don't like em don't watch em. Mind you I like the idea of someone deep frying their own head. So something good has come out of all this. For me, anyway. Otherwise not much sense in carping. I've always liked Ronni D'Ancona, or is that Matthew Ancona?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I have enjoyed parts of Watson & Oliver. Not a lot of it. But some.

And since I'm shinning along this limb, I enjoyed Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy too. Quite a bit of it.

More than I enjoy Russell Howard or Andy Parsons, say.

Or Phill Jupitus.

Or Joe Pasquale.

I saw a little bit of it, and I didn't find it especially funny, but I've seen worse things on TV.

I'm a miserable sod though, and the last thing on TV that really made me laugh was a documentary about Tourette's, which somebody claimed means I'm a bad person.

Is anyone else sticking with Watson & Oliver? Either it's getting better, or I'm just starting to get used to the running characters.

My 10 year old saw it and we now go around calling things "Nice" "Really Nice" or "Really Not Nice" etc.

Caught the last few minutes last night. First thought was it looked like 'school entertainments' all those decades ago when I was a spotty 15 year old. Then I wondered whether in fact it might be extremely funny but that, because of my age or something, I just don't get it.

Has anyone wathced the Vic & Bob Afternoon Delights on the Fosters Funny YouTube channel? Very good stuff if you like Vic & Bob (if you don't you'll probably think its shit). Parts of the new Fast Show shorts on there are also very good.

I have to watch Watson & Oliver as my wife and kids think it is hysterical. A bit hit and miss but the John Barrowman musical spoof was hilarious and, as a one-off, the Jane Austen spoof was OK. And I wouldn't climb over Ingrid Oliver to get to Rikkor. For a much funnier two-woman comedy sketch duo, though, check out Shirley & Shirley.

I reckon series two will see them hitting form.

Remember Fawlty Towers? That was rubbish in the first two series, but it got better after that.
