A while back during a boozy get together we were trying to come up with a name for a mate's band. Of all the suggestions he favoured "Johnnie and the Felchers". I was a strong advocate of "Pope John Paul and the Love Pumps" but got little backing. The band is still going and is called "Flashmob" rather dissapointingly. Thinking about this resently made me wonder why we don't get so much of Someone and the Somethings anymore (with the posible exception of the wonderful Me Too and the Gimme Gimmes)
Also it gives me an excuse to ask for your band name suggestions.

Back in the late 70's or early 80's there was a band called 'the Royal family and the poor' - a great name for a truly terrible band.
Jesus, I've just googled them - they still exist - how?Posted 1 year ago # -

I used to like this - amazing to see how music (and TV) have come on over the last forty years or so!
And I wonder what Peter Cook thought of it all.
