Mrs Ivy Johnson of 6, risehill top claimed she was taken by complete surprise by a man dressed in a black and white hooped top, black eye mask and beret knocking on her front door asking if he could steal all the valuables in her house.' Well I was so stunned I just said yes' quipped a still shocked Mrs Johnson ' I mean these days they usually disguise themselves as plumbers, electricians or anybody like that and burgle your house while you think there reading the meter or something'.
Mrs Johnson was asked did she ask to see any i.d to which she replied ' Don't talk soft, what sort of burglar is going to go round with an i.d tag on him saying i'm a burglar.Do you think i'm stupid or something'.
For which the answer has to be a resounding yes.

Stopfordian: Because we wouldn't have the longest railway viaduct in the UK.Still at least the vista reminds me of Manhattan, and how different it looks.
Some may say it's a pity the Lutfwaffe missed it - but the Council built it in the 1960's.
