I wonder what sort of odds you would have got that the number one test side would be whitewashed by Pakistan..?

That is a VERY good point Mr.Scroat
Had it been the other way round our collective finger would have been pointing right down their throat.
Match fixing accusations would have been flying around like whirling dervishes.
I rather suspect they wanted the series just a little bit more than the English/S.Africans and Irish lads.
Maybe we only got to number one in the rankings because every other team we played were losing on purpose. Now Pakistan are trying to win we look pretty poor.
Maybe it’s just that the England team have been playing more or less continuously since winter 2010 and they’re just f*cking knackered. Would any of us work non-stop for 16 months? (Apart from those of us who are self-employed, of course).
Stop mentioning the "W" word - you're frightening the horses.
I understand that our leather-smiting willow-wielders are in some way handsomely recompensed for their efforts, regardless of the result, and get to view a fine selection of pavillia around the globe : I could do with some of that knackeredness to be honest
Quite right re the W Word. I'm not sure we are allowed to say whitewashed nowadays.
