Good luck with that! Try talking to the VAT office. When you eventually get through you get transferred to a different line which then tells you that there is no-one there - goodbye.

Spent a while talking to 3 customer services today.
I was trying to cancel a contract, but nearly ended up with a new phone, different price-plan and whole new contract.Posted 1 year ago # -
According to an accountant acquaintance, HMRC has a high turnover of staff and has filled hardly any vacancies in the last two years; so, at a time when the Government is, allegedly, desperately short of revenue, it isn’t recruiting any revenue collectors. Arse, elbow, elbow, arse.

Just tell the tax people Dave Hartnet offered you a special deal
He helped Vodafone to save £6 billion (according to Private Eye)
So Tax wasn't taxing for Vodafone

My top tip for meeting your tax deadline
Fill out a form. Either online or on paper.
Enter a rough amount for how much you earned
Enter a rough amount for your deductibles (travel, stationery, computer etc)
Take the second away from the first, to give your total taxable income.
Bung them a cheque for about a quarter of that.
There. You've finished. You've hit the deadline. And covered the first instalment of your tax contribution.
You won't get fined, or have to pay interest.
In every field that asks for details, add a note that additional documents might be submitted.
Because the system is so needlessly complicated, hundreds of thousands of people end up being fined for late payment and stung for interest.
And the people who built it can justify charging HMRC billions of pounds. Which they take off us.
Tax doesn't need to be taxing indeed.
