In a shock move today Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that after successfully recalling the retired Paul Scholes, he plans to replace most of his existing squad from the greats of Man Utd. Ferguson told a shocked conference “I’m fed up with the constant demands of today’s young players, who aren’t even legends yet and with the credit crunch we need to economise like everyone else. So I’ll be adding some of the greats back to the squad, Bobby, Jack and Denis just to start with – they had it then and they have it now, we spent millions on installing ramps and toilets and yet we don’t make any use of it for our players – this way we not only get a great team, but also we get money back on our investment. He ended by stating that retired players are the future even thought they are from the past.
His first move will be to bring back Utd legend Sir Bobby Charlton up front to replace an out of favour Rooney, an insider said “The way Alex see’s it is that Bobby is a real ambassador for our club and knows how to behave, he won’t be partying till late as he’s in bed with a cocoa by 9pm and we won’t have to worry about any dodgy liaisons, as Bobby promises he’s getting too old for all that” – rumours that Bobby will be having a hair transplant have been strongly denied.
