Yesterday, the main street of my little suburban town was completely cordoned off.
Some apology for a sentient being found an old mortar on a hill in Dundee, drove the 5 miles to Broughty Ferry with it in the back of his van, passing 5 Police Stations on his way, to bring it to our wee, generally unmanned, Police Station.
As soon as the local paper has the story, I'll post the link.
What a complete tool.

I would not be surprised if he did.
Apparently he's a regular in my local, I just hope he doesn't bring it in with him to show everyone.

A few years ago there was an incident involving a skip lorry carrying 'loose' waste oil which, not surprisingly, spilt all over the road causing traffic problems on a steep hill going into Weymouth, particularly for the police vehicles which crashed when attempting to sort out the chaos.
Skip driver's defence? 'Well I netted it first ...'
Also, in the same area, roughly Mr BSL rescued and resuscitated a drunken yoof who had attempted to go for a night time New Years swim in the sea off Weymouth after loading a backpack with stones first for a larf

That does sound suspiciously like a premeditated suicide attempt you must admit. Where's the fun in jumping into freezing water with a bag of stones? Admittedly it was probably more fun than having a drink in Wemouth on NYE.

Sounds ace Hoops! I know a few of my friends were in the Tapas for a nosh that night.
Which one did you go to? The Ferry Inn or Pedro's new venture along in what was Brambles?
Haven't been to Snoutie for a night out in ages, must consider travelling further afield instead of just trotting down the road.

Ah, I worked in the Fish for a few years. Just realised that would have been 20yrs ago, yikes!! And the Arch is a great pub, never any bother and fantastic food.
It is a braw wee place, until the summer, when the buses disgorge the gadgies.

Brookes was the venue of our regular Wednesday nights out, but although I remember the Sands (Taxi?! Lazy bastard!), I'm of the Buddies/Atlantic/Jacques era. Loved being bar-staff, no queuing and then in free.
I'm from Blackness way originally, but the Ferry seems to attract a particularly horrendous type of gadgie, one which is very fond of nylon and Pit Bulls.
