Many children and their parents have left cinemas in disgust after discovering that the new Meryl Streep film is not a sequel to the much loved 1999 Warner Brothers animated feature.
One mother,Mrs Hilary Botus-Fleming left the 34 screen Newport multiplex with her son and daughter (Harry aged 11 and Ron 9). "Watching a movie about a terrifying automaton who slowly discovers what it is like to be human" said the distraught Mum "Is not what we expected, we were hoping for an action packed family film and not an 80's version of The Kings Speech". Harry was less sanguine "I just kept waiting for Dennis Thatcher to change into Robert Downey Jnr and trample the Argies as they fought in the war over the Isle of Wight".
Psychologist, Diana Kinnock-Howe is worried that a generation of children will think the Thatcher characters are real and wonder if Jim Broadbents' Dennis Thatcher was still a "Borrower". However Vin Diesel was congratulated for her performance as Carol Thatcher.
