Sample questions from “EasyExam”, Easyjet’s new syllabus show an emphasis on no-frills simplicity:
Geography: How long is Blackpool’s Golden Mile?
Astronomy: How many nine major planets are there?
Economics: What is your parent/guardian's credit card number?
At the end of every paper there will be a special “administration” question requiring students to calculate, then make an additional payment. For those who want to complete their examination in a hurry, there will be special “pre-answered” papers, at an additional cost. Successful students will get air miles as well as GCSE certificates.
Education secretary Michael Gove welcomed Easyexam to the education sector: “ It’s essential the examination system remains open to market forces. There’s a lot we can learn from deregulated airlines.”
